Any liquid dish detergent, like lemon joy. I do it at the end of the fishing day, so they get put away clean.

Another vote for Lemon Joy. Soak, scrub, and hang dry. Touch up the hooks with a hone before they go back in the box.

Oregon guide Bob Toman is another big believer in Lemon Joy.

Lemon joy is all fine and good, but any dish detergent will do the job. I've been using whatever brand was in the kitchen for over 20 years. Any detergent will do the main job, which is getting oily scum and human smell off the lures.

I have found a good way to remove the grime off spoons and spinners is rub the with a pencil erasor when the lures are completly dry. I tried it on some spinners that I found hooked on some logs at low time and it cleaned them right up.... it takes the shine off painted plugs so it didnt work for them....DJ

I just throw them in a sink of hot water and scrub them with a soft brush.
