I attended my first Sno-King PSA meeting on Tuesday night and was really impressed. The speakers did an excellent job introducing and discussing downrigger techniques. Thanks to all! I'll be back next month with my membership application.

I was also impressed with the turn-out. I think you guys have out grown the Edmonds Yacht club...there must have been over 100 people in attendance.

Given the growing need for sportfisherman to unite and speak with one voice, I think the PSA is an extremely important organization. Getting together once per month is a show of solidarity - the first step toward gaining some clout with our legislature.

Not too mention...the raffle seems to favor new members. You got a free raffle ticket if you signed up or you could buy tickets separately. Several of the prizes went to new members, including the electric scotty!

I agree and was there too. Great presentations on downrigger fishing for salmon by Grandpa, Slabquest and Fishnut. Now, I guess I'll have to get there earlier next time to get a seat.

Thanks to all who attended. We really appreciate your support of our organization. Lots more to come...February 10th features the great Dave Vedder....We will be raffling off a $500 custom made float rod too. Dave is a great asset for fishing and we thank him for volunteering his time and expertise. Mark your calendars. Feb 10th

A lot of work goes into producing a successful PSA meeting. The kind words are appreciated.

Be sure and check out the PSA booth at the boat show. You can't miss it! -- it's right next to the beer garden beer

Thanks for coming Bear....It is organizations like PSA that are going to save sports fishing in Washington. Join and get educated and involved. We appreciate everyone showing so much interest in our chapter. We had over 150 people in attendance.

In December I attended my first PSA meeting, this one was on S. Whidbey. I joined that night, got my free tide chart, won some tackle in the raffle, and had a great time meeting many veteran fishermen in my neighborhood.

However, our attendance was not as good as I feel it should have been - Maybe 20 people tops. I found the group interested and up-to-date with the issues I see being discussed on this board.

I am curious as to how much communication there is between the PSA chapters executive committees? It would seem a PSA BB like this would be a good tool to coordinate activities of neighboring chapters, etc..

I'm excited about being involved for years to come.

Jeff D, Here is the link you were just asking for http://pugetsoundanglers.org to the state board site. There is a BB there but it is pretty quiet. This will give a link to all of the chapters too.

Grandpa,

Calender is marked, but where is the meeting being held?

Q: Can folks sign up as members at the Boat Show this weekend?

Mike B

Mike B, the answer to your question about signing up at the boat show is yes. In fact the PSA will have a booth at the 2 upcoming Sportsman shows as well. Folks can sign up at any of these 3 places. Just ask the person who is running the booth, where the closest chapter is to where you live. Remember there is now a new Eastside Chapter being formed. The first meet there will be in February, I will post more about that chapter next week. We are having a meeting tonight to hammer out the details for the new chapter.

Mike B,

All of the PSA Sno-King meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month @ 6:30PM at the Edmonds Yacht Club. It is at the Edmonds Marina behind Anthony's restaurant.

Click on the website at the bottom of any of Grandpa's posts for more info.

The whole PSA organization really seems to be exploding with new members and chapters lately.

It's a great time to be a PSA member!

Like the Great and All Powerful Slab says....We are growing in size and clout. Judging from my first day at the boat show, there is a groundswell of interest in PSA and fishing in general. I suppose because alot of the hard work is finally starting to pay off.
