Was wanting to do the Broodstock thing this year. I helped for a few years and then last year wasn't able to. I lost the number and after digging clams today thought I would stop in and get it. all the sighns are down . Does anybody know if they are still going to do the Brood stock program this year?

There wil be no broodstock program this year and the program will probably cease to exist in the future. My heartfelt thanks to Herm. This guy gave more of himself to this fishery than anyone can imagine. He has to take a break due to an illness. There is no one who has the knowledge and is willing to in the time necessary to oversee this fishery. Besides, he has earned the trust and confidence of WSDFG. Something that does not come often. I will miss the fishery. I think I may even miss the "Old man" himself. Take care Herm....Thank you for everything!

thats to bad. Herm was one of a kind. one of those guys who in the mornig you didn't want to disturb and at the end of the day you could't get away from him because he wanted to talk and talk. sad to hear he has problems. will be fishing the Sop without him this year I gues. he did so much to help out the wild steel on that river.

i'm afraid herm didn't do anything to help the wildsteelhead on the satsop but help capture and kill after they spawned them.i personally like herm and the termination of the program didn't have anything to do with his short term illness.he is fine and awnry as ever. they will still take eggs from broodsatock fish from the traps on the east fork satsop.scott
