smile After the recent headlines in the PI I decided to get out and try to do something about the dangerous salmon of Puget Sound. Went to Kingston this morning and after about a half hour I was able to wrestle this mankiller to within netting range

and thats when this other killer showed up.

Any contemplations I was having about sparing the fish went out the door when the seal swooped in and grabbed it by the head. Just as I was reaching to fire up the big motor the fish came free and I quickly slid the net under it and got it in the boat. That was one pissed seal cause he came right up to the boat and looked me in the eye as if to say "#%$@&* THATS MY FISH!" and then proceeded to try to find a way to get the fish which was by now safely in the motor well. As for me, I went home. smile

I still say that a season should be opened on these SOB's. I was actually a little sad two weeks back when I heard that only one died from the spilled oil by Edmonds.

smile I got lucky cause he didnt get a hold of the meaty part. You can see the bite mark at the back edge of the gill. I dont usually have to resort to violence on the critters. I prefer to communicate with them telepathically(I just look at them like I'm really, really hungry!!) It makes them kinda nervous and they usually go bug someone else. laugh

That looks like a prime candidate for a seal bomb, nothin better then watching 1 of them immitate a porpoise when a bomb goes off.

By the way, nice fish! laugh

AK, I've got a guide buddy in SE that threw out a sealbomb last yearand the dumb #$#@$% came up and ate it before it exploded. The last time he was seen was in a pool of his own blood with no lower jaw!!
