Anybody but Bush for me.
I am a single issue voter based on hunting and fishing. What about gun rights? It seems that the only Dem that really supports gun rights is Dean. Its a two edged sword.

Anybody but GW for 2004. Unfortunately, there are many more important issues than fishing or hunting. If the dems tax me so much I can't afford to go fishing for example, or if the dems finally overturn the second ammendment and I can't hunt, etc. Extreme cases, but a good example of the partys' views. On a personal note, I would never vote for a candidate who is pro abortion either.

didn't you hear the part about morals and the sanctity of marriage?? Ain't no one going to Uranus. Because Uranus is a gas giant. Anyone who went there would find it has no solid surface to land on anyway. As for the poll, I also wish there were an option for 'Anyone but Bush'. Who tried to repeal the clean water act? Who doesn't care if a single salmon flops gasping upstream through a river that's clogged with industrial waste? Who gets kickbacks in the form of 'campaign contrubitions' from said companies? Who doesn't care if acid rain falls from the sky? Who doesn't care if the last bit of virgin forest goes under the chainsaw? Who doesn't care if the commercials net the last fish? Who doesn't care? Our President, that's who. Bush is not a friend to the environment, and thus not a friend to fish, salmon included. But he's for gun rights! Let's vote for him! Who cares if we won't have any animals (except uninvited two legged ones) left to shoot or fish for?! As for the Dems being for taxes... Well, how much as the Iraq war cost us so far? We're in debt, man. The gains seen in the Clinton years are long gone. The tax cuts in the early Bush years were based on potential gains that never came to pass. Now, this begs the question, just who is going to pay for Bush's little suare to the Middle East? You can't cut taxes and at the same time raise the budget by billions of dollars. That's right, we'll be paying for it. Our children will be paying for it, and their children will probably STILL be paying for it. Through taxes. Taxes that had to be raised because of our President's fiscal irresponsability.

Racerdan, I am not worried at all somebody will take my bolt action rifle or semi-auto 12 gauge. Never happen, not to me, not to my kids or and not to their kids. If any of these candidates had their way, your semi-shotgun would be banned. Than your high powered rifle next. Im sure the gracious people of Australia thought the same. Dean is the only out of the bunch that believes in the 2nd amendment as it is written, Clark is a disgrace concerning this issue. Vermont is the most pro gun and one of the safest states (crime wise)in the union. The presidents are temporary , your rights should be permanent. But thanks to the ignorant idealogues, we the people have to defend it at every whim. Must be nice to feel so content. I too am a single issue voter, 2nd amendment all the way.

Well as I said on another thread, I would vote for Bush but not if the "it allows the illegals to stay and recieve resident status but it's not amnesty" rule takes effect..... I say it is time to get the ridiculous number of welfare/unemployment people off their asses and take the "jobs that only the migrants will take". I was the Manager of Health Services for IBP and although hard work, it paid very well ($9.50 - 16.00/hr).... We need to get back to the days when people worked for a living, not worked at finding a way to keep their lazy ass at home. For the folks that are all for this "guest worker program", you need to realize how much this costs the working folks in this country that can barely afford healthcare for our families. I work in the medical field and anymore it angers and bewilders me how much is spent on undocumented and even documented hispanics. The ER is used as a Dr's office and they walk through the door waving the medicaid card like it is an American Express card. All too often I get the response "It doesnt matter, I'm not paying for it" when it is recommended they see the Dr. in the morning for their child with a runny nose, since it is non-emergency and ER is very expensive...... Although another 11 million added to the "legal status" roles may not affect this much since illegals already can get medicaid, the $$ that will be spent for things that they will then be able to get will skyrocket and trickle right down to the good-ole taxpayer. Maybe they should add a stipulation that will require they keep their money in the US.... You are aware that nearly half of the Mexican GNP is cash sent to Mexico from the US?? No wonder Mr. Fox wants more of his people to come here....... Bush allows this to win the Hispanic vote?..... He'll lose mine.....

So we either have the choice of having wilderness put away and not being able to use it, or trying to fish in the culvert that used to be our favorite stream. Some choice, eh? And don't pull out that animal rights bull****. Environmentalist = !Animal Rights nut. I personally think that we have more of a chance with working with the environmentalists (the non-wacko ones, and yes there is a difference) because at least they're motivated because they think they're doing what's right. Bush is just motivated by greed and scratching the backs of his big business buddies that contributed all that money to is election (and now re-electon) campaign.
But oh yeah, I almost forgot. Bush defends the right of everyone to own their very own AK-47 lookalike. Why, since they've been trying to repeal background checks, they must not even care if Joe Criminal walks out of jail on parole for armed assault and waltzes his way out of the gun shop with an assault rifle. That makes it alright for Bush to rubber stamp the raping of the environment and the fish along with it, right? That makes everything OK, doesn't it?
