Anybody going out this Sunday for the Area 9 BM opener? I'm going to give it a try with my new rig, "DewItAll". We'll be working Possession, PNP, and/or Apple Cove.

Regards.

We'll be at PNP also. We'll be in a 17' SuperVee.

Well I will probably be out for sure with this forecast.
Tides look like this:

Su 1 High 3:19 AM 9.9 7:37 AM Set 4:34 AM 74
1 Low 7:49 AM 8.3 5:09 PM Rise 12:36 PM
1 High 12:11 PM 9.5
1 Low 8:01 PM 0.3

So I will probably be working the west side of the bar until to noon change.

Fished the inside of Dines Pt. (Saratoga Passage in 8-1). Nothing.

I did see a lot of boats and a lot of wildlilfe. Saw a Calf. Sea Lion make about 4 big jumps out of the water at full speed, right in front of another boat trolling. Looked like the "Fridge" headed for the endzone.

Hope the rest of you faired better. We were only out for 2 hours, so ...

Went out with Slabquest and our friend Tom today and started at Eglon...Got my fish early on and I was done for the day. We trolled Northwest towards Pilot Point and got a few more shakers and a couple of potential keepers. Kept the second fish West of Point No Point and had to work for the third one which finally came on a brown and white "Baitbuster" behind a green Hotspot flasher. I have had that wierd lure for awhile and this was the first in the water test....It has good action and has a spongue pad inside for scent. We had three major hits on it before the final fish of the day stayed hooked. All three balckmouth were hatchery and all had scraped up gill plates indicating that they were all scraping the bottom for candlefish. We field tested the new Lamiglas rods today and I was very impressed. Water was calm but it was real cold out there.

By the way the tribal crabbers were out with hundreds of commercial pots strung every feet feet from Kingston to Foul Weather Bluff. We heard from Fishnut that the Baby Island area in area 8-1 was so choked with crab pots he couldn't fish the area. Geez I remember in October there was an emergency closure.....I guess the tribes don't just 50% they get to crab 24/7.

Went out to West Possession Bar today. Got a late start and gear was in the water about 10:00. Fished through the tide change and only got one shaker. I did not see any fish caught.

We fished PNP this morning from 8-12.In my boat, my brother landed a nice fish of 7-8lbs,lost another fish to a seal, and crackered off two more, I lost one right at the boat. My other brother took a guy from work out.My brother landed a nice fish around 5-6lbs and released a couple more shakers right at 22". There was a very good bite the last two hours of the tide change, and we ended seeing about 15-20 fish caught.

We fished Double Bluff drift-mooching plug cuts. We had 3 strong take-downs, but with the kids helping, we didn't get any of them to the boat :p The kids had fun -- brought home a nice-sized starry flounder and a sanddab.

There were only 2 boats at Double Bluff with us, and maybe 30-40 at Possession and PNP.

We'll probably go back to Double Bluff next Sunday (weather-permitting), and run the downriggers.

Regards.

We had one fish right off the bat that was 21 3/4, let him go. We were joking about stomping on him to make him 22.

Just shakers after that all morning frown
Didnt see any bait after scouting all over the bar both sides. Then Jaunted down to Edmonds to see what was shakin by the oil docks. No Bait, No fish.

Chaser saw you out there, how did you fare?

fished nw of possession and caught 9 fish that ranged from 22"-26", Plus a bunch of smaller ones. My question is, How much does one of these fish weigh? . My guess is about 3-4 pounds. I was looking for fish that were at least 8-12lbs. It was a good time though.Light sprinkles and almost flat water.

Fished possesion sunday, lost a keeper at the boat, and lost another good fish. Besides losing 2 fish had a pretty good day on the water.

smile Sorry this is a little late but I've been having trouble with Int. Explorer. frown Started on the west side and had hit 3 fish by 9am. None of legal size. Not much bait showing there so I hit the horseshoe hole on the way back and had one pop off there but no hookup. Very little bait there so I called it quits for the day. Did see one nice 10 - 12 lbr at the docks which the fish checker said was the biggest he'd seen to that point. All the others were very "skinny 4 - 5 lbrs". My scources told me that area 8 - 1 was also slow.
