Had the day off today so I headed high up on the Green. I was hoping to get high enough for fishable water and was hopping for the dam and snow level to keep the river from blowing out. Well I was wrong. The water was up 4-6+ feet from a few weeks ago, some of the boulders in the river where not visable. The water was also the color of chocolate milk. There was now possible way to fish that water. Have to wait for a break in the rain that will last atleast 3 days with cool temperatures to make the rivers fishable agin. frown

Hoping the rivers on the OP (Forks) will be saved from a lot of that rain.

AccuWeather shows sunshine on Sat. and Sun., with rain through tonight and maybe a shower tomorrow.

Your gonna need it to drop a good 3,000cubes before it'll be any good. All though I have got fish at 2,000 and above but, not in the last few years due to bad returns.

They have only received 13 winter fish at palmer ponds (107,000 egg take) this year so far, that's 12 over last year.

They got 110 summers but 78 of them were from Soos creek

Would not be supprised to find a few at the creek in this high water though.

I live 5 min from the ponds and really like hiking around and fishing the upper green it's just too bad that there isn't much up there anymore beathead but they are there for the taking.

We need to get Stew out of there. Too many ducks in the pond and smolt kills due to stupidity and the lack of caring about the fishery. Sorry but that's my opinion from first hand with him. frown

It's sad that such a good fishing area with lots of places to fish by your self if you want, has gone down the drain

But I will still fish the area as it is soooo close to home and there is a few there if you are willing to put the time in. See you up there sometime. beer

This might be a weekend to try some of those high water tactics outlined in the latest issue of Salmon Trout and Steelheader.

Yep, but doesn't the water level need to be at least coming down? frown

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

Nonsense........I'm going fishing this weekend. In fact, I have a nice little slot in the ditch in front of my house that I'm gonna float some bait through and see what happens. banana

Because nobody fishes around there and the ones who do usually CnR. Atleast from what I've seen they do. The one I caught there I CnR so the hatchery would get it. The creek was full of clean, clear water. Thought I saw one in it. It was also up a few feet and looked like the easiest time for fish to go up it so they probably moved out of the river.

Just called Three Rivers Resort over in Forks..

She said the rivers were blown out, and the rain was getting worse.

Think I'll stay in this weekend and tie up some more jigs, oil up my reels, rig some worms and dream of the nates coming into the Skagit next month.

Drat.

So by this, do you mean fishing on the road or on top of peoples porches? laugh
