Does anyone know of a good place to take a Seaswirl (20') that i intend on buying? The boat is a 92 and has around 400 hours on 185 inboard outboard, the boat has been garaged for most of its life. What type of things should i beaware of? Any thought's or suggestions on where and what to look for!

P.S The boats owner lives in Poulsbo, and is a very good friend of mine, thanks in advance Ron

Have someone give the engine and outdrive a good look. There are a couple of guys here on the board that I am sure could do that for you. If you can have someone take a look for dry rot. Make sure all the systems work, electric, bilge pumps, lights, batteries. Check out the trailer for rust, good tires, spare, bearings, rollers. Check any canvas for tears or mildew. Look at the seats and flooring for wear. If the electronics are dated or not what you need factor in the cost of replacing them with what you need. Make sure you agree on what goes with the boat such as anchors, safety gear, pfds, skis, etc...
Also make sure you budget to get the boat set up the way you want, downriggers, electronics, nets, gaf, cup holders, am/fm radio/cd player, or any other toys you want to make the boat a joy, not a pain.
Good luck and have fun!

Pull off the drain plug fitting (not just the plug itself) and check for spongy, crapped-up transom core around the drain hole -- DAMHIKT beathead

Take a look at the block-to-manifold and mainfold-to-riser seams -- is rust showing there? If so, the engine may be getting water into the exhaust ports via rusted-out risers or manifold. Replacing the cast iron isn't hard, but it is spendy. Worst case is you have water collecting in the exhaust valve pockets; then you have real problems.

BTW, the problems I allude to in the post right above this one came AFTER the boat got a clean bill of health from a reputable marine service shop. Just because the boat runs great, doesn't mean it is problem-free. Do your own inspection, and make your own conclusions.
