Okay here it goes... my dumb question for 2004.
Listed on this home page a section where we can check on river conditions. i.e. "Sol Duc 15 boards and rising".
Question ... What are "boards"?

Boards are the concrete slabs that makeup the launch. 15 boards means there's 15 slabs showing above the waterline.

Or so I've been told.

Actually, the number of "boards" is usually the amount of boards/slabs covered by the water. the higher the board count, the higher the water.

There is one ramp in the middle of the Duc, a few hundred yards off of 101, that is the location for the "boards" in question.

When I hit town, I always pop in there to check the height and then you can make your plans accordingly.
