In Washington this weekend, where would you fish? Got a kitchen pass, my part of Area 10 is dead, and the boat's on the trailer ready to go!

Meadow point has been a consistent producer for me the last 3 trips out. Got (2) on Saturday.

Fished Pt no Pt on Sunday caught 1 about 7lbs and released 2 just shy of 22 inches, One of my brothers caught about a 8lber and lost three others one to a seal, and my other brother lost one. seen about 15-20 fish caught.

Went back out today and landed about a 8lber in the first 15 minutes of fishing, I released it so I could continue fishing Had another one on to close to know if it was a keeper while I was attempting to net it, I actually had the net in the water and bringing the fish to it when one Ballsy F*cking seal came and took it. I have been fishing salmon my entire life and have heard and seen others get their fish taken by seals But for it to happen to me today and my brother last Sunday is unreal.

There were four other boats out there and saw each one land a fish.

Am going back out tomorrow will give you a report.

The seals are getting smart, they now know they can get an easy meal by picking off a fish that you have just caught. I wonder how bad it will get as more and more catch on.

I have caught my biggest blackmouth at Sekiu in March in the past. The Sekiu blackmouth derby is next weekend and someone will no doubt get one near or over 20#...I got two over twenty one day many moons ago.

Ideally, I start fishing the end of the ebb off the Chamber's Creek hole. 90 percent of the time , bait will hold along the drop off here. If nothing is happening here, head across and fish Gibson on the flood...

smile Went out on my buddies boat today and he decided we were going to fish on the Kitsap penn. side. Started at Pilot point and trolled towards pt no pt. Nothing showed on the sounder and we saw no action. frown Rounded the corner at the point and proceeded to work the area between the point and Hansville. Again we were marking very little bait. frown but since we were getting close to the tide change we decided to stick around to see if a bite would materialize. There were about a dozen boats working the area( 1/2 trolling & 1/2 mooching) We saw about a 1/2 doz fish hooked before we hit our first fish at 10:20am which turned out to be a chunky 5#r. smile Hit our second fish at 11am and we were done for the day. This one was a nice fat 6#r smile Both fish were caught on a Coho Killer spoon( cop car pattern with a special "chaser" bend)behind a green hot spot flasher dragging the bottom in 100' of water thumbs Might be out tomorrow again. Will post report.

smile Ok here is the report for today(friday). Started at Skachett Head and trolled west. Hit a shaker within 5 mins. and proceeded into Usless Bay to see if we could find the bait. confused As I expected we started marking bait(finally) once we got into the bay. thumbs Hit another fish about a half hour later which was promptly snatched up by a seal that had started shadowing us as we were the only boat in sight. We hit three more fish as we followed the 90ft contour across the bay before the wind forced us to hang it up for the day. All fish were running around 19 to 20 inches. All fish were promptly snatched up by the seal who at least was courteous enough to wait untill we released the fish

smile My buddies boat is a 22ft cream colored olympic hardtop. You cant miss it, its the one that aways leans to the right side(he he). He made the mistake of putting his kicker on the same side of the boat the wheel is on plus he's a pretty good sized boy. laugh

Last Year, I lost three BM in a day to a single seal. mad Up here in PA during BM season, we aren't really fishing for salmon as much as trolling for seals. They pick out the boats that catch fish and stay with them all day....
