It was ridiculous...Most people attending thought that there would be some sort of well planned discussion where Tacoma P&L would explain the rational for their decisions.

What it turned out to be was a series of booths set up showing how great Tacoma P&L are. They showed how great their picnic parks are. They served food to show what a good group of people they are...

Finally what happend was that the people in attendance gathered around the biologist and ask him very poingnant questions, most of which seemed like pure horse pucky.

We demanded a follow up meeting, complete with all of those who are on the board making the decisions about the FHMP. It was so lame that not one WDFW officer was in attendance.

A couple of those in attendance had cassette recorders and recorded everything that was said by Tacoma's lead fisheries biologist (Mark)working on this project.

In the end, I wonder if Mark can go home and look himself in the mirror and believe that what he's proposing/advocating is honestly for the best for the fish and/or for the fisherman...

Tacoma P&L ought to be ashamed! beathead

What was "horse pucky", the questions or the answers.

WE have to figure out a better stradegy for dealing with this. More attention. Either through the courts or the media. Some type of civil disobedience might get some print. It's worked to our benifit in this country before. More than anything we need to organize.

The questions were excellent!!! The answers/arguments for the direction that Tacoma P&L is heading seemed very weak!

Thank you CFM for being so informed and cornering those SOB's. It was entertaining to watch the fact that they were unable to answer your questions.

There was another individual there with a recorder. I believe he works for an organization called CPR Fish. Do you know anything about it?

Lastly, there was a heavy set older guy there who seemed to be an attorney. He frequently jotted notes down as many of the questions were being asked. Did you see him and/or know if he represents Tacoma P&L? (He was sitting somewhat near the table of food)

Thanks for coming up and supporting our efforts!

The "other guy" names is John Squires. He is a co founder of CPR -Fish! We both stared up CPR-Fish in 1996 when we both left the Friends of the Cowlitz (FOC) to fight Tacoma Power on the relicensing of Tacoma's Cowlitz River Project. He is truly a good person! Next to me, no one has spent more time then John fighting Tacoma. The heavy set older guy was our joint attorney for CPR-Fish, FOC, and the Cowlitz Indian Tribe. He is truly a friend of the Cowlitz.

If it was not for him and his 10 years of service helping out our groups, the Cowlitz would be long gone history years ago.

Sounds like this is another case of the government and a public utility simply ignoring science and the public and moving forward with their agenda no matter what you do or say.
