Howdy,

If any of you are planning on fishing the Skagit today..especially below the Baker, then this morning is a good time.

The Baker was shut down last evening, and is still down as of 7:30 am today. They (ususally) open the Baker up at 6 am, noon, 6 pm, etc.

With it being shut-off since last evening the Skagit (below the Baker) has cleaned up considerably. Visibility is 3'+ and that beautiful green color is present.

For how long...no one but the guy opening the gates on the Baker knows...but for the moment it is beautiful.

The north side is the "good" side, from what I hear. Grandy Creek should be real good this morning.

DJ,

Sorry, I slept in till 7 this morning..hard to get a good "read" till the light comes up enough to see across the river.

No worries...they opened the &^%$ Baker up...that beautiful green water is now back to being two-toned. It's coffee with cream colored on one side and a nice green on the other.

I am heading down to float a jig, maybe throw a few spoons and see if anything is home.

Otherwise no luck yet on steelies..no worries, got lots of time, and hopefully I'll be fishing the OP with Darren next weekend.
