I personally have bought several things alot cheaper on EBay. Last week I got a NEW Curado 200 6:2 for $103.00. Shipping and Insurance included with "Buy It Now" option. That's cheaper than wholesale thru my account. Hint: If you REALLY want the item, wait until the last 2 to 3 mins to bid. keep clicking REFRESH to check the time and other bids. Always check or ask about shipping first. If the shipping seems alittle high, ask. I've had sellers adjust it because I asked Good Luck Bidding!

Another way to buy something you really want, is to look for stuff closing at bizarre hours, say 1 am. I will then bid just before bed, and I often win without the hassle of sitting at the computer.
Also there are progams that can do it for you if you leave your computer running during the close.

I love eBay! I also love local shops and do buy what I can from them... Like the Sage I just bought from Sparkey.
eBay is a great way to get expensive items for much less than retail. Last week I bought a 3wt Teton fly reel and extra spool for $120- the reel alone is worth almost $200.
Here's how I bid...
1) Never, ever bid on something more than a couple hours, preferably a few minutes, before the auction is about to end. All that you accomplish by bidding early is that you add to the hype and attention to that particular item which will lead to more bids! Plus, I find if you rebid often you develop auction fever where you're willing to do whatever it takes to win instead objectively looking at the price.
2) When you find something you want to bid on, hit the "watch this item" icon. That way the item will show up in your "my eBay" area and you can watch the progression of many items, not just what you've bid on.

Those are some good tips. I've been using those methods for a few years on there and saving a lot of money. Gotta love EBAY!!!!

another thing thats cool about it is sometimes the seller might have alot more than one and you can make better deals on the side and if you need any squids or flashers for the salt there is no better place

I also check "View Seller Other Items" Sometimes some good stuff gets missed-listed, therefore not many people know it's there to bid on Wooly Worm's advise is well worth considering. Late night endings. Remember east coast and west coast time differances Maybe BOB will put some fishing trips on EBay???

I buy and sell on eBay frequently. It has it's pros and cons, I have only been burnt on a deal once due to a small business's bancruptcy. I really like the convenience of shopping around for things and pricing items out. Always look to see how cheaply things are going for brand new on the web!
I sell really sweet custom pool cues in case any of you are interested!

Be careful, Ebay addiction can go TOO FAR! I made my first ebay buy this Christmas and it was great, got a deal on a mini hog for my niece and nephew. I often look at Steelheader69\'s listings cause he's one of us.
