I'm looking to get a new kicker motor for my 23 ft fiberform. I have a t-8 yami that is a great motor but just not enough balls for a back up if out at westport or something. Any advise. I see the yami doesn't make a 15hp which would seem perfect? Thank in advance.

Yamaha F15 with a low-pitch prop?
Mercury 15 HP Bigfoot?

Are you sure the T9.9 won't have enough thrust? That seems to be the "right-sized" motor for your size boat.

Last year my 150 evinrude went dead, with a fuel problem. Took my T-8 all the way in from 12 miles out, it did just fine for my 22 foot.

Do they make a yami 15hp?? I didn't see it on the web site. I was thinging about the t9.9, just didn't know if the difference would be that great. The t8 does ok but pushing a heavy deep hulled boat just seem on the weak side. How does the 9.9 compaired to the t-8. I would like to stay w/ yami after having such good luck with the one I have.

Yeah, hum ok did I tell you I was blind rolleyes Thanks Finegrain. I've spoke with the guys at Tr-1 and the yami dealer I bought my last one from and from the sounds of it the t-8 is real hard to beat. May just stick with it for a while and see how it goes?

I have the 9.9 HT on my 24' Olympic. At full throttle it runs about 6 knots. At idle, it provides just enough push to keep me going straight.

The high thrust T8 has more power , idles better and has a stronger gearcase than the 9.9 or the 15hp... Straight out of the Yamaha reps mouth.
