Boyfriend gone fishing!

Boyfriend picks me up after work and lays it out. He was supposed to take me fishing the next day , but now has an invite for the OP for 4 days, what do I think. I think we'll talk about it. Actually, I knew he was going to go , wanted to go, and was pumped up for fish, I just wanted to work the moment for a bit. So, he says he'll only go for 2 days, ok. Then , the night before he says he HAS to go for 4 days as he's driving with someone else. Convenient, eh? So, I call yesterday and he doesn't sound sober, hmmmnnn. "Are you going fishing or not?" Well, they made it up there and he was indeed not sober this time on the phone. They were headed out this morning for the big ones. Hopefully he gives me a good report as I want fish! I sent him off with everything in my fridge and he better bring back some big ones. Update later.

Angg,
Those things are to be expected when one's boyfriend's highest calling is bass. Bass and beer go together like green eggs and ham.
If you'd have picked a flyfisherman things would be lots better.

Well, he says he can't wait to fly fish soon, so things may improve. Yes, he goes on about these bass and I just can't get excited like at the salmon. I told him no catch and release this time around ( if legal) bring them home! Hope they are catching! Instead of fishing I turned into little woman cooking his ribs to take along and making the sandwiches and worrying about him not eating (he has no extra fat to lose). Darn, coulda been fishing and catching nothing here, so I hope the OP turns out well!

Angg,
Sorry to be the one to have to tell you this, but if you don't want to go through the hell I put my wife through, then best let him go. Maybe he'll see the light some day, but sadly he needs help you just can't give him. Bottom line: You deserve better and he needs help from above.
Don't we all, Abbie

Next thing you know he'll want to play poker with the boys. Better have him sit so he's in view of the camera.
Driftwood, was that open seat for Angg, or for her boyfriend to further abandon the poor woman.

Yeah, you won't be able to change him. Once a guy becomes a dedicated fisher, there is no coming back. You'll just have to get used to it or join him, unless he goes with his buddies then you should let him go by himself edit: I see this is a fast topic and my post was a little to late as it has been explained. It just takes too long to type something when you have to fallow along witht the teacher at school too.

FDB, you shoulda gone with them. I know they are catching the"big" ones. Or better be, he is not to return home without big fish or I will have to question the trips idea.

Teach him what it's like to sit home and wait up. Take that spot in the poker game and let him wonder if you will come home broke.

Easy Limits, you are so way off base! He drove me crazy catching so many fish and not caring at all. He never cared if they got off or if they were huge. I pretty much mounted his big silver so that wouldn't get away too. As far as river fishing goes, he is much , much better than I. Wait till lake seasons are on. Plus, he does watch me for poker, anyone for paigow or texas hold'em?

OK Angg,
I wasn't going to tell you this. But now that you have hitched yer wagon, I'll give you one suggestion that just might help get you more quality time with your beau.
Try letting him catch a fish or two when you both go fishing together. That way if you're not catching all the fish maybe he'll want to spend more time fishing with you.
I know this changed things for me and the Mrs.. Of course, the admiring remarks she would coo every so often about the prodigious size of my catch or my renowned fishing prowess didn't hurt either. Sometimes when I'm really having a tough string of luck, she'll even hand off her catch to me and say 'it doesn't really matter who hooks 'em, it's landing them that counts". And the gentle reminders every so often that I usually get skunked with my low life buddies and never with her hasn't hurt either.
In retrospect I gotta say I just wouldn't be the fisherman I am today without her. Hope ol' Mikey can look back and say the same.

Oh Cowboy, I wish it was that way! But, at this point , he catches all and I just get excited seeing it. I don't like to be handed a fish on pole as I want it myself. But maybe, when the lake trout are hot, I'll get to hand him my rod. From my lead line that catches the BIG ones. He just doesn't know how hot it can get! Glad your lady is nice to you, and you can spend some good times together with family!

Yes, I met him fishing. Kandi invited me down to the zipperlip and said some guy would walk me over the river.,He carried my big bucket, my beer and my bags and laughed at me while I trembled in 4 inches of water. I was so scared and he laughed! I made it across and was still trembling. Kandi, thankfully walked me out , letting me hold onto her shoulder. I will never forget that day. And yes, I knew he loved to fish!

Boyfriend called. I cooked forever and has he eaten? No,he's starving. But they caught 3 big steelhead and some whitefish today. I yelled at where they were but they were not legal and the guy goes by the rules! So, they are tired and hungry at this point. He said he'd call tomorrow, no, later tonight I said, we'll see. Some fish at least!

Tell me about Harstine Island! I know it's private and have been down to the ferry pickup. I watched to see who would be getting on this islands boat. I was looking at houses at the time and it is a bit too far out for my work, but sounded really interesting. I bet you can sneek off all the time for fishing!

Well, I must be way off but coulda sworn it was the Harstine Island Ferry boat I was watching. Just had to get my map out to check. Aaaagh, Heron Road is what I took. With the Herron ferry boat I believe. Shoot, now I'll have to go back and look at the Harstine listings as I thought they were too far away before. I just thought it was ferry access only. If there is a bridge then it may be ok for house hunting.

Well, the guys are out fishing and I should've taken the advice of not to call and say I'm busy. But, I just can't wait to see if they get some more fish today! Both of us had been jealous of the big fish reports and there is nothing here to be caught. I hope they end up with some nice fish!
Reasonable houses! That's what I need. I am allowed a 2 hour commute to work(Sea-Tac) . I am already looking at going back to Detroit and commuting so a farther away house may not be impossible for me.

You know, if you guys get married, he'll stay home way more and quit fishing so much. Okay, I lied. Detroit? Okay, come on..........I was seeing things in your favor there for a while. Dammit, I lied again. But Detroit?
