If I was king....

Big limits on commercial netting

Fishing education- Just like hunter ed. Before you get licenses you have to demonstrate a working knowledge of the laws and ethics.

Polulation control--Tax incentives to limit family size to two kids..

Loggers would have to pay the costs of salmon restoration on every stream they have affected by their poor practices

Any polluters- they'd have to pay too, right out of their pockets..

Immigration control and reform...

And it goes on and on........

Ok I feel better....This is useless but it's fun to rant....Please feel free to join in.....

If I were king.....

You would have to submit a name for your child to a committee formed by me before the child is born.

Stupid child names, like shi-na-na, would be denied.

Child names that sound good when yelled in a fit of anger would be accepted. laugh

If I were King...

The Indians woulf have to get a license just like everybody else and go by the rules like everybody else

The Snake River Dams would be gone as well as the Elwah Dams (faster) and numerous other dams

Tacoma Power would be given the big thumbs down on their stupid plan

Fish would get a higher priority

Fishermen would actually be listened too

My Canadian side is from a logging community. So don't bash the loggers as their work is very sporadic and is always tied to weather conditions. Do they regulate which trees are clear cut-NO! And do they choose to put silt in water-NO! They are a hard working community and the blame should be geared towards the company that plans the clearing as well as the regulating agents allowing it.

Angg: You are 100% right. I have often been accused of hating loggers. As every crooked politician would say (oops that was redundant, wasn't it) nothing could be further from the truth. Loggers are hard working, decent folks doing a hard and dangerous job. I sure don't hate loggers. But logging companies, now them I can hate.

WEll....Angg...I didn't mean the indiviual loggers...Let me give you an example. A few years ago, DOE attende a meeting for the public regarding the Skokomish.

DOE tried to blame the farmers for the pollution problems. However, they came prepared and showed the so-called experts that the river floods so frequently now because of siltation that was caused by leaching of soil from logging roads. That in turn has elevated the river bed and caused flooding, which in turn caused the flood water to go into the farmer's fields and dump the animal by-products into the river... Whatever logging company is clearcutting above there should share the responsibilty...Anyhow..if I was king...

I know we need paper...I don't want to wipe my butt with feathers....

Well if I were king I would have a daily rotation of the Sports Illustrated swim suit models as my queen.

Well, I can indeed be educated on the issue but still remain strong of my beliefs that the loggers themselves are not to blame. I have seen the clear cutting in Canada and have heard of how the loggers hate it. They know the land much better than most other people and that is why they hired the loggers to put out fires this year. The loggers were hired out when there was not enough fire fighters for the extreme forest fires. These men risked their lives, going into conditions the fire fighters couldn't take and fell the burning trees. It is extremely dangerous work and I have the utmost respect for them. They are actually more environmentally friendly than most believe. It is not actually the loggers who decide to clear cut forests and ruin streams. So, my vent is out and "If I were King" I'd be out on the water everyday. Well, I'm not the King so I must go to work, lol.
