An article in the Wenatchee World Newspaper notes that a group is lobbying to reopen the Wenatchee River (closed to salmon and steelhead fishing since 1997 due to ESA listings) to limited fishing.

The WDFW states it will (finally) start finclipping hatchery steelhead so that this river may reopen in two years if runs remain strong. There is also the possiblity of a fall chinook fishery.

Let's keep out fingers crossed that common sense will prevail over ESA imposed roadblocks!
