How many think bananas are bad luck? I personally hooked My biggest URB (38#) wheil eating a Banana. I have also had several 6-7 springers landed, and other takedowns in a day with bananas in the boat.( it could be the banana oil I use ) I think It is a Myth.

I bring bananas along by the bunch, just to watch the expressions on the faces of the guys next to me. I like to break one out after cleaning a fish.

I'll take some with me tomorrow to see. Hopefully I'll have a pic of a springer or two.

Best snack that you can pack! Do have one bud that won't let me bring bannanas along when he drives. He says they bring HIM bad luck.

Man, you guys are creeping me out. They're EVIL. Stuff in the boat gets broken, people get hurt, fish bust off... all kinds of things when bananas get near the boat.

One time after my buddy missed two fish and busted off a third, I said "dang, it's almost like there's a banana in the boat"... he said "huh?"... after we pitched his banana overboard (gripping with needlenose pliers) and did the obligatory ceremonial dance while eating a jelly donut, he never missed another and we limited...;-) (Just one of many true stories!)

Oh yeah...it's true. We were fishing the Kenai once and not getting a bite. Just when I thought we'd pissed off the fish gods, my buddy pulls out a bannana and starts casually peeling it. I thought the guide was going to throw him overboard.

I read in an egg cure book once that it is true. Bananas contain high amounts of potassium. The author claimed he tried putting a couple drops of liquid potassium in a fish tank and the fish would scatter everytime.

It's bad luck to even talk about those things and fishing at the same time. Knock it off.
