I have made plans with my buddy Geoff who helped me organize the Blackmouth derby last year, and with My brother in law Gregg to head down to the CR on April 8th, 9th, and 10th.

We will be camping on Sand Island starting Thursday morning and Departing Saturday after fishing.

Is anyone else planning on going down for a spell during that timeframe?

JR, Gutz, Gizmo, Spawnout....Buhler?

I'm going tomorrow. Then I plan on fishing every weekend for about a month. Probably spend 4-5 days down there at the end of this month. Can't wait.

I'll be out, not sure where yet. It's a bit early, but there should be a few fish around.

Your boat will be fine unless the wind really kicks up or you overload it. I fish next to a lot of 14 and 15 footers, they do fine. Try just out from Kalama, next to the island on the Oregon side. Short run, close to the launch, plenty of fish.

Saw a number of folks at the mouth of the Lewis today. Didn't see any nets flying.

Fished below willow grove yesterday and seen one native caught for 20+ boats. They got some up river yesterday though. Maybe next weekend will prove to be better. I'm going to another spot lower in the big C.

Fished Cathlamet on Friday (3/5) until we got blown off. Pulled the boat out and moved upstream and fished the Kalama/Prescott beach area the rest of the afternoon.
N-A-D-A!
Early I guess. The five, or so, other boats that we talked to didn't have any success up to that point either. (Cathlamet)
Oh well, there's always next time.
