got the boss to take his boat , release from the warden(8 months P.G), gear and bait!is anyone else gonna be down there? i've only fished once out of the launch on the Cowlitz so if somebody wouldn'tmind i'd like to meet and follow. i hear it's slow but this may be my last trip before diaper duty begins!!!!! :rolleyes:

I'd head downriver if I were going this weekend, maybe around Cathlamet.

A buddy went out of the cowlitz a couple weeks back and he said he won't do it again. He said it was way too shallow. Launch at Kalama if you want to fish near the mouth of the cowlitz. Or over at Rainier.

I believe the deal with the cowlitz launch is you need to head upstream from the ramp a bit to get across to the deeper channel. But I haven't been out of there lately, and prefer Kalama myself. I wouldn't plan on launching a prop boat there.

Hilton is right Head up and to the far side.

River rat is right.Up and over.But not at much of an angle.Also if the tide is not low its not a problem this time of year.Run the east side all the way to the mouth you wont have any problems.
