Fished it hard today. Trolled in the morning by the old cannery with cut plug and one with a kwik fish. Saw one fished hooked in about 3 hrs. There were about 15-20 boats in that area. Went to the other side of the Island at tide change and anchored up. Fished k-14 paydays with about 2 1/2 droppers. Had one take down in four hrs. There was about ten other boat in this area. Saw one fish taken. So..it's still slow but the weather was great and I still wasn't at work...

Thx for the report.

I heard some concerns today at NOF that the run might be way-overforcasted???

Hope that isnt true!

Anyone have an opinion about re-using brined herring? I kept a couple of dozen in the cooler overnight outside. Vacuum sealed them today and re-froze em'.

Might be a little soft but it's probably better than trolling bare hooks...
Be fishing there Sunday. Tides and weather look good. Hopefully the catching will be too.

If it were me, I'd just salt them a little more and keep them in the frig rather than re-freeze them. Just for fun, we kept brined bait over a month last year in the frig and caught nice kings on them all summer long. I think fresh is better, but I'm not afraid to use older brined bait as long as it's been kept cold.

I'm there on Saturday, green Willie, tiller Yamaha, 3 or 4 guys in boat, trying to figure out how to catch these things. If you see me and want to give me any free advice i'm open to it.

Just got home,
got one keeper about 13# on herring, only saw about 5-8 other nets flying for maybe 40 or so boats within sight of us, kinda slow. (could be worse, I'm not emptyhanded!)

There were 3 of us in the boat, my buddy and me about 34 years old and his dad, no small kids in the boat, spent most of the day in Clifton channel trolling.
