Went to the Columbia and like everyone else is saying....Slow, but there are some fish caught and of course I should have been there on Saturday, heard of quite a few caught on Saturday.
Just want to give my thanks once again to fellow board member Steve Ericsson, who saved my tail. He saw me in Kelso inspecting my smoking wheel on my tandam axle trailer. Seems the brakes locked up and got very hot, which in turn, changed the grease to the consistensy of water. Steve had a spare hub with him, and helped me get back on the road, as well as grease gun, etc. This serves as a reminder to have those items in the truck not in the basement of my camper like I did. Doesn't do any good in an emergency.
This board has many many services to provide and Steve deserves a big pat on the back for being so helpful. By the way , I will let him tell you how they did on Saturday and Sunday.
Steve Ng

I would like to think that we all would lend each other a helping hand at times of need. Even those some of us may disagree with each other on this board at times about fish and fishing, I am sure we would all help each other out at a time of need. Good job guys! That's one thing what most all fishermen do have in common. We've been there and done that

Thanks DR and mini DR for the first time on the Columbia...wish I had a easier time tryin to keep my eyes open LOL
My son came in from Kansas on a redeye, so I hit the water with DR with zero sleep...no sleep in almost 30 hours and still throwing a line. Does that qualify me as hardcore or crazy...LOL I was shot by noon....or should have been.
Dang Steve E. we must have missed ya......good job on the parts bin.
And yes, FishNg1, that King Ford is bad to the bone.....!! Have you seen DR's, ruff ruff talk about TORQUE!!!!
You guys should have seen miniDR try makin a d-rigger outta a stick, 4oz cannonball, and extra line and hoochie, it was a hoot. Am I on the bottom Daddy....? Even if the fishing was slow, watchin that yungun had a thing or two to teach me LOL A very special moment, what peach of a kid DR. "Purple"!!!! Ouch )&)*^(^&*%^
Had blast, maybe more fish next time..! Paul

Hey Steve, glad to help, just glad to hear you made it home! As always, any fisherman or boater is welcome to anything I have that they need. Good for the Mojo!!
I had my neighbor's kid with me, we did get a nice 20lb+ slab to the boat, but had an extra fin, so had to let it go. Shame too, this was his first salmon ever and had to make him watch it swim away! He told me this morning he had big fish dreams all night! Saw the FishNg1 machine on the water, I yelled to Steve I was surprised that boat would run in anything other than Westport water! Then, saw him in a parking lot on the way home laying under his trailer, so I doubled back to see if I could help. Having busted two trailer bearings and had to leave my boat beside the road in the past, I know carry a complete hub kit and a grease gun along with all the tools needed anytime I pull the boat, especially that far. Some guys look at me funny when I grease my hubs everytime I pull the boat out of the water, but some say man, great idea and ask if they can have some. I always carry extra for them, because I would hate to see them broke down.
Like I told my kid afterwards, boaters stick together and help each other out. I may break down and need a tow in someday, or be stuck beside the road broke down. At those times, you are greatful for a helpful person to come along and help you out. I just want to be the guy to help if ever needed.
Glad to hear you made it home ok Steve, sorry the hub wasn't quite the right one, but in a pinch, you know?? I'll definately take you up on the Westport offer!!

Yup, no kidding. That was a great thing you did Steve E. Slow for us as well. One hook up on the troll. The fish was lost during a rod exchange. (Still beats spring time yard work.)

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

When Mr. Ng pays back with a trip to Westport, you'll be glad you stepped up and helped out. That guy flat out finds fish at Westport. A tip of the hat to you, Mr. Ericsson.

Jerry, told you not to lay the four stroke on the wrong side! Boy 1st post, welcome aboard, and get that boat done. I will try to remember to pick up that part for you at Lighthouse. Give me a call at work or stop by.
Steve
