Was surfing the web and found a site that had this monster steelhead that was taken this year... Is this the 46" steelhead you were talking about Bob??

Keith, that's the one. I posted the same pic a few days ago on the "chinook-sized steelhead" thread, but I suspect it will come down unless you obtained permission from the source to import it to this board. No doubt, a fine fish that truly is chinook-sized!

Yes, Keith that was the one that I was referring to. As FnP mentioned, though, unless you have direct permission to post it here, please don't ;\)

Ooops, sorry about that Bob... I didn't know there were rules against that! Anyhow, nice sized fish but do you really think that fish goes 46"?? 26" in girth is pushing it too...

My dad and I boated a 48lb Fall nook in august on the Columbia 2 years ago that measured 48" x 28" and it certainly had a ton more girth than this steelhead. Also my dad and I have a couple pics of us holding it side by each and the fish at 48" hung past both of our bodies in width.

I don't know, it's a big fish though.

That fish only goes 26 to 28 in my book, those dimensions must be wrong or something because that would put that fish near or over 40lbs., and it ain't even close to that. Neighbor caught one last year that was 41 in. x 25in. and it weighed 28lbs. 14oz. and the kid is 6'4" and 320lbs. and that fish is still huge and looks a lot bigger than the fish were talkin about. Nice fish anyway! I envey the guy still! Tight lines Chris

Saw a pic of one of the monster steelies that were advertised in the Seattle Times last month. Almost a record beater. Amazing what these fish look like that large.
