Anyone know of a good place to stay down by Cathlamet? Cabin or motel type place.

From what I understand there is really nothing down there, and the few places are dives from what i been told.

Right, nothing but B&B's and one motel where you start to feel itchy just standing in the parking lot.

I'll be "commuting" from Longview.

There is an RV park @ the marina.

QUESTION: Is an Oregon license required to fish Clifton Channel?

And, are annual Oregon licenses based on the calendar year, or an April thru March deal like WA?

I think it's calender year for the Oregon license.

Your WA license works in clifton channel ok. I think that is true for the entire Columbia.

The only place that is not true is the Multnomah Channel, which I believe is considered Oregon only waters.

Thanks for the clarification. I knew the MC required an OR license. But since Clifton is a channel , I was concerned that it was not considered the CR.

Both departments rules read the same way. Either state's license is good in the river but you must obey the state rules for which side of the boundry you are on. You CANNOT fish the SLOUGHS ,tributaries or from the land without that states license. You can launch or land your boat and fish on EITHER side as long as you have a valid license from one or the other.
