In todays Olympia paper it states the Kalama is Catch and release for ALL salmon and Steelhead. Wild or hatchery, This sucks!!! Are the commercials letting there catches go down river. HELL NO. why do we always get screwed!!!

Probably a good reason is that we sportfishermen don't have lobbyist slipping money into the back pockets of these fine politicians in our state government. (unlike the commercials)

I would take a peak at the WDFW website as I doubt that is the actual regulation in effect on the Kalama.

Sounds like bs to me, check the regs and emergency regs. Don't believe everything you read in the paper. Nice false alarm.

Relax, your not getting screwed on the Kalama. It's only CnR above the Kalama Falls Hatchery.

I was fishing there on thursday and caught a native steelhead with a red tag behind it dorsal fin. Do they tag wild fish or was it a mix up at the hatchery?

I fish the Kalama ALOT and when I read that I almost Crapped my pants. I'll check the WSFG regs which I should have done before posting. WHEW
