Always wanted to hit Lake Ki on the opener.

Any body fished it then?

Any and all thoughts would be welcome.

Yes, I'll have plenty of company, I know.

Thanks!

It's crowded but you will get limits for all. Most of the fish caught are within the first two hours of daylight. Troll dick nites behind some pop gear. Bring lot's of patience for the launch and parking. You will do great.

If we get there after, say 9 AM, how far will we have to park away from the "launch" site?

Also, can a 12' boat on a TRAILER launch ok on opening day, or just what??

Thanks!

By 9 a lot of people will already be gone and parking spots will have opened up. As was said the launch is right on a busy road but you should be ok.

We hit the big cunnundrum every year just for laughs.

We pull in around 6:00 am and there are already people leaving with limits.

I woulnd't try to troll, you will do better (and avoid lots of tangles) if you anchor up and just cast.

Dick Nites and a single split shot work well.

C&R'd 32 fish before noon last year. The biggest hawg was a whopping 11 inches.

combat fishing at its finest! Last time I was there it was raining pretty good and there was a couple in a 10ft aluminum that were like watching a three stooges show. The lady was at least 300 lbs, the guy 130 soaking wet. She was in the front of this little tub with a coffee can bailing water as fast as she could. He was in the back trying to steer with the little electric which had about half the prop out of the water due to the sevre weight inbalance of the boat. She could be heard all across the lake bitc$#ng that it was his turn to bail while she caught a fish and him telling her that it was dry here he was. The grand finally was when they tried to switch places and shammo does a perfect splash down taking skinny and the contents of the boat with her! Luckily they were near the road in shallow water so she was able to wade to shore. He gathered up what gear he could find and hauled the swamped boat to shore. Couldn't help but laugh! Have fun and make sure to bring a sense of humor! \:D
