Dang...that would be interesting. A 200# seal is one thing...I'd like to see a dog retrieve an 800# sea lion, especially if it was still kicking when he got out there!

I think I'd go with the boat retrieve!

Fish on...

Todd

Wow! is all I can say. A Lab that retrieves a 200# seal 200 yards in heavy currents in Iceland cold water.

My Chocolate might have been able to do that in her early years but not anymore. That's impressive.

Gotta love the laws in Iceland, I wonder if he even needs a permit?

That is about the coolest thing I have seen in a long time!

Awesome. Thanks for the link. Wouldn't it be cool to have a spring seal season?

Now, isn't that cool?

Funny.....just saw on one of the local news channels a group of "touchy feelies" releasing harbor seals. Just made me go, "Ahhhhhh" (NOT)

Years ago (late '60's) I worked for RCA in Kotzebu, AK and used to go seal hunting with one of the local Eskimo's....never had a dog to retrieve them though.....used to harpoon them with a seal belly balloon (known as a float, Dave :p ) to keep them from sinking after being shot, then come back later and pick them all up.

It took some pretty tricky shooting from a bobbing boat while it's under power, but what a kick it was!

If my dog wasn't so lazy, I'd start training him tomorrow...
