ive noticed that salmon have alot more seal bites than steelhead. any ideas why?

Traveling in shallower water, running in bigger numbers and so attracting more attention?

Worst case, maybe the steelies that get bitten don't survive as well.

In order to make a truly accurate comparison it would be necessary to see the same number of salmon as steelhead. Now I don't know about everyone else, but I WISH I saw as many steelhead as I do salmon in any given year.

Caught a steelhead saturday on the cow that had seal or sealion bites on both sides. Dont know how the fish got away. Another boat caught one about the same time I caught mine with the same marks. These teeth marks were almost all the way through and the holes were almost as big as 50 cent piece. A good quarter of the fish was no good.
