It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

Presentaion had little to do with a take liike this since for the most part the jig is just hanging there.
But the jig is just hanging there because you are presenting it corretly, right?

There are times when your color choice makes all the difference in the world.........but your presentation can make the difference every time out. Present the right color the right way, and it's money.

I'm sure if a guy bought every color available from Silent Approach and every color available from First Cast, he'd be pretty well set up. ;\)

Presentation is #1. If you present your gear right, you will be successful. But i believe strongly that fish change their bite habits on a day to day basis(barometric pressure) some days a 1/8z pink/white will get hammered, next day you wont touch a thing. Switch to spoons and wham...

Last summer a buddy and I spotted a nice 3 salt summer run laying agianst a boulder in mid-stream. Both of us adjusted leader length to be within inches of the fishes nose. Both of us started off w/ 1/16oz jigs...We threw every color we could possibly think of without a look. Next we tried the ol' shrimp tail, nuthin. Out went a tiny brass teardrop spoon..nuthin... Over an hour had gone by and it was time to move on so i took out a big ugly purple jig and threw it figuring the fish would spook. Fish darted out of his hiding spot the second the jig hit the water and nailed it on the drop....One of the coolest things i have seen.

Steelhead never cease to amaze me...
