Plan to leave port at daybreak and head north. Forecast looks okay(SUN...NW WIND 10 TO 15 KT. WIND WAVES 2 FT. W SWELL 3 FT. ) There will be three of us fishing out of my 22' boat. Heard if anyone has dialed in on the fish yet? Is six dozen herring going to be enough?
I'll monitor 68 on the VHF.
Good fishing,
Hans

I can't give you any inside info on fish locations, but I've heard that the charters are fishing out 30 miles. I did OK on opening day in 230-240 feet 270 degrees out of port.

six dozen herring ought to be plenty, but you might want to have some anchovies too. The fish I caught had anchovies in their guts. Our most productive setup was the "buoy 10 rig", a fish flash with a cut plug (some with a springer spinner in front of the herring), but our biggest fish came on a GSB behind a green flasher so you might want to drag some hardware too...

Good luck - I hope to see lots of fish porn when you return.

We'll be there, too!

23' Olympic with 4 guys aboard. I'm not sure if we'll run north or not. I've read a lot of reports and it sounds like there are fish all over, but not as thick as last year, yet.

We'll be dragging herring, spoons, hootchies and GSBs...whatever works...

I'll stay on 68. Just call for the "Feelin' Crabby" and I'll let you know how we're doing.

Us too. Leaving in few minutes. We'll be listening on 68. I've got to get a name for my boat (Arima SR21).

My boat is a black over white alumaweld, called the Jiggler II . But I'll answer if you call Slabhunter. We're probably going to troll the beach in front of Ocean Shores at first. Then head out from there.
Good fishing!
