If your looking for a alumaweld then go local to three rivers. If your gonna shop till you drop then get on the phone to all the southern oregon boat makers and start pricing them,oh by the way you'll probley end up driving 8 hours one way to get it.I love my 16x54 willies, but when it came to my sled I took the three rivers approach.Good luck,

Here is another to check out. I do not have one of their drift boats but I friend of mine does and he really like it. Says it is easier to control than the alumawelds he has tried. I have one of their 20ft explorers and love it. They have a dealer in Olympia and Sedro Woolley Washington.

Hey stlhd_dreaming ,

I recommend you go check out Lavro DB in Monroe.
Talk to Ron he is the owner and builds Lavros one at a time by him self.
Here is the Lavro link: http://www.lavroboats.com/

If you have broadband, then out the video link also.

I purchased a 16-RF last year from Ron and I've been very happy with my boat.
Good boat, Good service, and made in Monroe!!

I have to put my two cents in for Willie. They make a great boat, the way you want it. They will customize anything. A note on re-sale, Willie's name recognition is second to none when it comes to re-sale. I sold my last Willie boat in less than a day, for a fair price. I have a new 17x54 in the garage now. The best thing I can say is to re-state their logo "Simply...The Best". With an emphasis on "Simple". Ask the local guides why so many of them choose Willie. The only downer is the drive to Central Point Sucks!!!

I looked long and hard at Alumaweld. Especially since Willie worked for them at one time. I like their boats, and have always had good luck with Three Rivers. The only downside there was a 4 month wait for a boat and less customization. Willie custom built mine in 6 weeks.

Martinac boats

Hyde

Koffler

You might want to check out a River Wolf if you want a damn fine looking vessel. Marinac is located down in Tacoma, but they are fitted more for flyfishing. The best looking boat I've ever seen was a 20' Koffler. Heard a Martinac is a Porsche but Hyde claims to make a Cadillac.

Just something for you to look at.

I've known for a long time that one day I would be buying a DB and have always seeked out the opinion of DB owners while streamside. In all of those conversations I have yet to meet anyone who does not think they own the best DB on the market. The most important thing in deciding in a make of boat is to ask what will you be using it for and, since your looking new, how you want it layed out. Don't skimp on this-order the exact layout you want-you'll only get one chance at this. I recently bought a LazyDrifter (Lavro) 16 rf and am very pleased with it. I do not pull plugs all that often, mostly tossing hardware and floats. With two sliding seats fwd (just in case I want to pull plugs) and one seat aft this boat is perfect for that and is extremely easy to row. If, however, you plan on mostly pulling plugs in big rivers take a good long look at Willies. Good Luck, have fun and see you on the river. (Whew-Five years later I finally submitted my first post)
