August is a bit early for any returning ocean fish. You may tie into a few mid-sized locals. It doesnt really start to heat up until the week before labor day.

I'd have to agree with SG. You can catch residents and smaller returning coho earlier but I've had by best success off Possession in mid Sept. for larger coho.

A ocean fish trickle in late July and early Aug. The last week of Aug it starts to cook if we get rain. Early Aug usually means 3-4 lb fish.
