Will someone please explain to me how to set my own image as my avatar? I'm pretty computer savvy, however, I can't figure this one out. Thanks a bunch!

Go to user profile
click on change avatar image link
will pull up a page of generic ones, at bottom of page there is a space to add a custom URL.

Paste URL of image you have hosted on the web somewhere.

To get an image hosted, you have to size it correclty on your PC, then use the picture upload function on this forum.
Once you have the picture loaded on the site, do a right click on the picture and click properties. The URL for the pis will be displayed within properties, this is url you want to paste into your custom URL space within your profile.

simple right?

You have to load a picture through the upload center - 2nd blue hyperlink on the small boxes above the Northwest Fishing Board phrase or underneath the Radical Glow.com icon. Once you have succesfully uploaded you will get an e-mail with a URL in it. Paste that URL into the custom URL avatar field and voila, you will have it.

I don't remember for sure, but I believe in order to show an avatar you need to have 15-16 posts. So you may have it loaded but it just hasn't taken.

my avatar image is uploaded and I recieved an email with the url, however, when I paste it into the cutom url spot and click "set url" nothing happens....I 'll keep trying.

After you paste the avatar URL it should show the avatar in your profile area

No dice...is my image not fomatted right? does it have to be a "gif" file instead of a "jpg" like I have? I paste it and click "set url" and it does nothing and shows up nowhere. Thanks again for the help.

I looked at the above URL and noticed it had the image code. Try just the URL in your avatar area.

its gotta be all that pink in the photo or maybe its the grin

what do you mean "just the url?" I am pasting that http-site that used to be where my picture is...the one that was emailed to me..maybe I'm confused about the exact definition of a url??? Thanks again

Also once you have loaded the URL be sure to scroll down to the bottom of the profile page and click the udate profile bar.
It's got to be something simple 'cause I was able to see the pic. above.

Paste that URL into your profile at the Custom URL space within your avatar screen.
That should take care of it.

OMG I know!!! I feel like the village idiot because I am doing that and it is not working!!! This is crazy!!! that url pasted in the custom url avatar box...then clicking "set url"...then closing that window and clicking "update profile"...DOES NOT WORK IN MY CASE...This is comical!! thanks for the help though.
