been marking some kings around bald point in the southern canal area. friends have been hookin into kings on the skok , trying to ketch steelhead and I have already seen some at the purdy bridge. so im givin it a try again tomarrow.

Be carefull this year on the Skok... The way I read the regs. It will not open for salmon retention until September.

well gaylord Im pretty sure there not retaining them but, friends from Verls told me theres alot of people pissed off about the opening date change. I have my opinion on that but ill keep that to my self. because it seems crying about it doesnt help. anyways the canal was slow but I happened to pick a few crabs, and im not givin up

Must be why I encountered 3 Native Americans stocking up on large (5/0) hooks at the local hardware store. Pickup towing a shallowdraft boat for river navigation. They just happened to mention that the kings were in the river (Skok) and quite a few jumping in the bay off the mouth. They headed South, gassed up at Brinnon Store, and continued south.

And we don't even get a chance 'till September?

why is it opening soo late anyways?

Fished last tuesday from 6:30 am till about 1:00 pm Didn't touch a fish.
Still a couple of weeks early but went mainly for crabs anyway.
Got six legals (and probably 50 just shy)in four Traps during this time.
The locals said the Indians had pretty much wiped out the legals the week before.
The fish checker on Monday checked 14 boats at Potlatch for One Chinook and one Silver.
