My dad said hell no to the LK WA zoofest. He sais he didn't want to fight all the idiots out there fishing (nothing personal). I am still bummed. I drove by Coulon, Seward, and Sayres to see the starting action. Coulon had about 60 trailers waiting up to the freeway to launch. Seward was pretty quiet, and Sayres had a bunch of fine folks waiting to start and a nice party mood going on. I was jealous! Maybe by tomorrow I will see the insanity, but tonight it looked fun. I may have to beg for his boat tomorrow to at least try at the sockeye day. He thinks there will be another, but just another crazy weekend day and not worth the effort ( heart problems, high blood pressure- not good with too many people who can't launch or fish). I may jump into the zoo tomorrow, but I wish all you early go -getters much luck. Just don't run me over with the big boats, lots of them out there. Please post lots of pics!!!!

Actually, as zoo's go, it wasn't all the crowded on the lake today. I was surprised at how few boats there were - over by 520. Usually the zoo is way more crowded.

We fished all by ourselves and banged out our 6 fish. Nice day to be on the lake, that's for sure!

Well, North must be where to go! Last night they were all sitting South . I am building up my nerve now to coax my father into either letting me take his boat with a friend out tonight or getting him to come. Your good report by 520 may sway him. If no sockeye are left at least we could switch to worms for trout. Where's the glory shots????

Actually, I'm talking of going later ,like 5pm tonight. It's late I know, but still a once in a year (until another day is decided) shot. I was hoping everyone would be coming in and we could get out, have several launch options. Hopefully most guys will need to check in for dinner time at home, and we can maybe get out. Otherwise, the trout will still be there. More pics, more pics!!!

North is probably the better choice, I went out today, got a late start didn't get out till almost 6am. trolled around for a couple hours, lost a couple fish then finally got one into the boat as we headed back to the cabin. We fished down south end of Mercer island with 90% of the other fisher people.

Got to the launch about 3:00 am at Stan Sayres(spelling). Only had to wait about 15 minutes, but had too park 1/4 mile away. My buddy stopped in Kirkland for ice around 2:30 and the guy said 40 guys already came through who were fishing. The fish checkers were optimistic about 1 more day.

Talk to a few friends that took an hour are longer to launch. Arrived at Coulon at 1 a.m and only took about 20min. Short walk to Boieng parking lot, easy come. If they open it up next weekend will do it again. Just have to have patience if you're going to fish this fishery.

I found the crowd to be quite pleasant this year. I launched at midnight, beached the boat, chatted with fellow fishermen and women. Saw two bright falling stars. I had a great time. I am now whooped from being up since 8:30 Friday morning but I would not hesitate to do it agian next weekend if the state will allow me to.

To all you south enders, it was a pleasure fishing with all of you
