Three friends and I fished at Westport yesterday. We had a banner day. Sorry no pix. Started out fishing off the beach at Copalis Rock. Din nothing. Moved out to 150 feet of water and hit a ton of coho. We released five unclipped fish and kept a couple of clipped fish. Then headed back in toward the bar and fished in 50 feet of water and found lots of chinook. We limited on chinook from 12 to 22 pounds and released several under sized fish. It was a great day, but windy and a bit rough.

We were with Father and Son Charters. He is trying a new concept at Westport. He takes only four anglers on his 26-foot aluminum boat. He immediate bleeds cleans and ices your fish. And he gives you a full day, even if you limit on salmon early. We left the dock a 6:00 A.M. and got back after 4:00. P.M. Buzz, the owner, wanted to stay and try some crab rings, but we were tired. If you get you salmon limit it he will take you for bottom fish, or you can C&R salmon. He charges more than most, but provides a real quality experience. If you want to see if he has a few days open call Buzz at 360 280 3199

Thanks for the report .
I was thinking about fishing there tomorrow but will pass on the windy and rough part.

I drove down today just to get some stuff that I left in my camper. I took the binoculars & saw boats from buoy 6 to GH. Then stopped at Totem RV & Joe said that it has been rather rough from Monday on, & a couple of days ago there was one 20'+ boat that took a wave over the bow & it did some damage. Today was the first this week for some of the small boats. But we have been having a pretty high run off.

He said it appears the fish that were on the north beach may have moved in around the south buoy line.

But still there are not the fish there in quantities that we are used to see this time of the year. ????
