Compared to last year ,this site is becoming lightweight re:fishing reports.Alot more stuff about fishing rods and politics!

Everyone needs to post if they go out!

The Naches is in great shape for fishing right now. Lots of red banned rainbows and west slpoe cutts. Most are 10 inches or less but some are 12-16 inchers. Most fish come on nymphs buy when fish key in on an hatch then use dries for what ever is hatching.

The Cow is supposed to be hot right now. The Lewis too.

Sky has been slow as well as most Puget Sound summer run rivers.

Salt water fishing is heating up. Chinook are starting to gain numbers around Pt. Defiance and Elliott Bay. Other chinook haunts are good too. Silvers and chinook are at Neah Bay and Sekiu, silvers will be there until mid September.

Mountain lakes are full of eager fish. Some at lower elevations (below 4000) often have lots of fish food and lots of big trout.

SRCs from the beaches are very hot when you can find them, as usual.

Sockeye at Lake Washington tomorrow afternoon. Fish deep (75+) and you will find them.

More?

Piper, have you been out after any kings headed to Hoodsport? Any coho showing up out there yet? I have seen very little bait in the hood canal this summer when crabbing. Usually by August in the early mornings there is bait everywhere. Last few times out crabbing I've seen very little.

San Juans have been so slow I've kept the rods away and have been crabbing and shimping. Is anyone catching fish in the islands?

Been out for all 3 Sockeye days, 10 the first, 10 the second and 3 the third. All on downriggers, 70 to 90 feet, chrome dodgers with red or black hooks. My 7 year old daughter landed two, one topping 8 lbs. She's got a nasty swing with the bonker - stand clear!
Heard they are picking up some nice kings in EB, Dash point and Three Tree. A work mate went out to the Tree and within 30 min boated a 20+ lb King and a 5 lb Silver. Not bad for someone who only fishes a couple time a year?
Heading to Mexico for the Bill fish tourney 1st of Sept., to Sekui 2nd week of Sept for silvers, then up to Canada for Big Kings in Oct. Reports to follow on each trek.

The Hood is showing fish. Ayock has some fish saw one silver caught. Nets are picking up a few fish but it is going to explode very soon. Southworth is getting good, success the last two times out two twenties and a 10 lber. fishing between the ferry dock and Vashon. Point Defiance is getting more fish and should be good real soon, evenings are best, Some silvers showing at Quilcene.
