I am looking to buy a driftboat in the next week or two.I want a 16x54,aluminum and a galvanized trailer would be nice.I have been looking in the newspaper, boat trader and on line but have yet to see one.I don't want to spend the bucks for new,and buy the time you add on the options it gets a little crazy. Thanks

Did you check Willie's site? He usually has some used one for sale.

Check out the traderonline site too. Search for Oregon boats as well as Washington. Always seems to be more boats available in Oregon if you're willing to drive for it.

Linestretcher:

Willy has typically got a "Show Special" running...usually a brand new boat, ready to fish and costs around $3999.

Heck of a deal to get you going....providing you prefer alum., that is.

Have you considered building your own from wood? Not all that hard, really, and you wind up with a thing of beauty that can help catch fish too. Lower cost, but higher maintenance.

I have checked the oregonian, and willie's used section and there are some boats but they are ray's river dory's (wood) and I wanted aluminum.I have had wood and glass and aluminum. The glass boat I had was a hyde and it rowed excellent but it was a low sided boat with raised floors.A couple times on the cow my friend almost fell out with the sleds wake.I'm not into wood, there heavy and it kills you when they get a ding or a scrath and I seem to do a lot of dinging and scratching! As far as willie's show specials, those are plain jane boat's,by the time you add on the fish box and dry storage and the dmv charges your back up to $5000.00.I have seen some good deals on this site so I will keep looking. Thanks for the replies.

Check the fishing web site ifish.net It's mostly Oregon based as this one is Washington. Ifish.net has a fishing related sales page and well as a page for general stuff for sale. Go to the one with fishing related items. There are generaly several drift boats for sale. I see a new one listed every couple of days. good luck. I own wood, I'll never sell it, but I would never buy another one either.

Here's a link to a garage sale on craiglist, looks like a fair buy.
