Just talked the wife to get off the lakes and take to boat to some bigger water. We are headed to area 5 or 6. I am trying to stay near PA. I have 5 kids and will take 3 out at a time to catch some salmon, not chum all day. We have never fished up that way but have worked there once and loved being there. If you guys can give me some ideas on where to go and not to far out, I would appreciate it. My hidden hope is the kids just have a blast fishing that they will not want to leave. Let me know. Oh, I have a 20' boat and have fished up and down on the Columbia.

In my opinion, it's worth the extra drive to go to Sekui. There are lots of coho which means lots of action. Port Angeles fishing can be slow-- too slow for kids. The coho aren't usually in until September, and the run out to get them can be far.

Just my thoughts. I took my 3 year old up there this weekend and she had a blast! Just head straight out from the marina and start fishing.

Love to fish, I have been leaning toward Sekiu I have heard that you don't have to go out to far to pick up salmon and there is bottom fishing. The kids should be able to do that. We have 10 days up that way so if we have to move around that is ok too. My wife likes the columbia on the Oregon side near Astoria. I think the area is Hammond? We have not fished there only bouy 10 from Washington. I don't think we all want to get out of state licience. There is just too many places to go.----Thanks for the reply
