I'm betting with the rain we have, its pure mud. Most likely a little early for salmon anyhow.I'm headed to Longview later. If the colors any different I will post.I imagine there are still some steelies.Parts of the s fork might be fishable up higher.

Definitely a mud fest.I would say for a couple weeks. The good thing is.Once it clears up there should be salmon in.

The Toutle is the color and consistency of chocolate milk, it's ugly and high. If anyone is fishing it, they'd need a box of stumping powder and a couple fuse caps to have any results. I was up on the South Fork last weekend and you couldn't see an inch into the water. It hasn't stopped raining since then, the river won't clear out for at least a week after the rain stops. The main fork will take longer because it drains much more volcanic deposits than the S Fork on it's own. The salmon should be racing upriver from the Columbia with this fresh rainwater. They may hold at the mouth of the Toutle for awhile.
