I have moderate success fishing the bay in the past. I would certainly like to increase my catch. Do most 10 % of the fishermen use a dropper line or a diver ? Best tide to fish ?

The 10 % ers catch 90% of the fish.

I'll second that motion for the droppers and lead cannonballs.

I've only fished Was-away beach in 8-12' of water right along the surf line, so a 2 oz. ball dropper is all I've ever used.

I know locals here in South Bend, where I work, that do fine with either or. I live closer to the Astoria Bridge so I don't even bother towing my boat to work anymore due to the weeds. Too much trouble. If ya want chrome colored fish and don't want to deal with Bouy 10, atleast make the trip to the Bridge and save yourself the hassle of pulling 500 lbs of weeds and throwing dark fish, really.
