We picked up two on a Deep Six with 9 inch Al's Fish Flash and coyote spoon two weekends ago when I had 4 people in my boat. I ran two downriggers and two Deep Sixs. One fish was caught on an army truck coyote spoon. The other one was caught on a chartreuse and white. One at 12 pulls and one at 20 pulls.

You don't want to use a normal flashwer with a Deep Six unless you want to troll on the surface!

Oh, and troll with the tide. The tide can really rip out there.

thanks for the tip jimh
question: what kind of flasher should I be using? I have been using a 11in green hot spot 50in behind my deep six, and getting mixed results. This morning I hit two using a silver horde green splatter back hoochie. Im sure it was more luck than skill

As Jim said...the Fish Flash. They look like triangles. Check the Salmon Univ. site-they have a picture of one. You can get the at GI Joes or Outdood Emporium or probably just about any fishing place.
Good luck.

Another rig that will work well is a large luhr jenson dodger, followed by a cut plug herring about 20 inches back. Especially early in the day, when they are real shallow, you should be able to get them with a diver.
