Saturday was rough and SLOW. Never had such a slow day at Sekiu. Only landed two fish (other than tons of shaker blackmouth).

Sunday was nicer all around. Water was great, calm, and the fishing was better... at least in the morning. Unfortunately the bite turned off pretty early and then it was just stragglers here and there. Very uncharacteristic for this time of year.

I ended up fishing solo Sunday AM for two quick fish, then back to pick up the family and we only managed one more.

SSLLOOWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!

Fished Thur, Fri, Sat, Sun.

Had to work hard for the Hatchery Limits.
But alot of Native fish. The fish were all good size. And yes, a suprising amount of shakers......We go every year at this time and it was the worst year yet.....

Time for the rivers.........................

COHOFSHR- I too fished Thur, Fri and Sat last weekend and had the slowest fishing in the last 4 years - we go the same time every-year and this year we actually went home without filling our possession limits for 5 guys. I had better fishing in inner puget sound a few weeks ago!? like you say- time to hit the rivers I think that mid to late Aug rain brought the bulk of the run around the corner earlier than normal. Will be back at Sekiu next late July for the kings! always next year and another season to prepare for. . .

As for the fish, ya there still there. Sunday morning was a coho rodeo out in the shipping lanes, 3 triples and to many fish to count, including at least a 1/2 dozen that were pushing 15lbs.
