Is anyone getting steelhead on the Grand Ronde or is it too early? Is it worth making a trip over in a couple of weeks? Has anybody done well at this time of the year? Any reports would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Yea it is, just a couple more of weeks I'll be there. Most years I'm there by the 20th of Sept. and catching fish, but meeting are keeping me here longer then I like.

I'll be there also for two days in a couple of weeks, then back to the Clearwater. Homer, if you look like your Avitar please don't say hello ... \:D

The reason I say that Homer is the last time I was on the Grand Ronde with the particular group of guys I will be with, they drank so much around the campfire one night that they should have been wearing life jackets and football helmets at all times.. At any rate, the main topic that night was " big girls and who loves them most "... If I could get some T-shirts with that Avitar on them, I would be the king of camp... would make nice early Christmas presents for some of the crew

We only had one guy last year that needed all that gear: helmet & pades etc. (boy did he need it) we have a civil group (while maybe not, KerryS is one of the guys) but it's all in fun anyways.

Cya over there!

Homer's avatar is the spitting image of him. I love to take Homer fishing. He attracts a crowd where ever he goes. People come from all over the river to watch Homer casting a spey rod in a tutu. Which, you might have guessed, frees up a lot of water for me. You should see him floating the river in his tutu and pontoon boat. More then one sled jockey has hit the rocks while gawking at Homer. I'm telling you it is quite a sight!

I am just bringing this post back to the top again. Anybody fished the river recently and care to give a report? Thanks.
