Wondering whether a trip to Sekiu for the last week and a half of silvers is worthwhile. If anyone has come back during the past couple of days or knows someone who has, I would appreciate a report. The only thing I've heard is most of the fish are un-clipped but most are nice size, from 8 to 15 lbs. Too bad with so many "natives" it makes the fishery nearly a catch and release program. Also, havn't heard much about this yet, but sounds promising...The Freedom to Fish Act. Check it out @ http://www.freedomtofish.org

Was there all weekend and although we did well, not everybody did. Most people however waste so much time on the radio, asking for tips, asking what people are using, what depth, etc..., that very little time gets spent actually fishing. We actually figured out that if you have your line in the water, as opposed to ferrying all over hells half acre, that you just might catch a fish.

My wife and I fished 2 hours Friday evening and 3 hours Saturday morning (before the boat went TU for the weekend). We landed 19 silvers, of which 2 were hatchery fish. I think we sported the worst ratio in town. For what it's worth the fish checker said the people fishing shallower seemed to better on the keepers. Good Luck. I'm sticking with man powered craft for the next six months.

Fished there Sunday afternoon and Monday and Tuesday mornings and its smokin'. Wife and I caught 40-50 silvers 5 to 16 pounds, about 70 percent of which were unclipped, and one king about 30. Kept seven hatchery coho 6 to 10 pounds. Let go some really mean hooknose and and lost a few more. Fished with 5 ounce sinkers and plug cut herring about 50 pulls out, trolling fast in 400-600 feet of water. Lots of shakers. Best bite was this morning, about 4 hours steady. If the weather holds, I'd say it'll stay good until it closes. Go for it.
