I did really well on Tuesday morning at Shishole and didn't do quite as well on the upper Sky yesterday.

Looking at the posts over the past week it looks like most people are shifting their coho fishing energies from the salt to the fresh water.

I'm curious, is that because most people prefer to fish the rivers or is the fishing is simply better there right now? Is the saltwater fishing for coho almost over for the year in most people's opinion?

Thanks!

Aaron

I like the absense of chop, and not having to flush my boat. I also know exactly where they are in the rivers, so I do well there.

For me it's boat in the salt and bank fishing in the freshwater since my 13' Smokercraft w/ a prop runs too deep for most of the rivers around me. The boat is relatively new for me so I tend to want to stay in the saltwater.

Saltwater coho fishing is not done by any means. The less rain we get the longer the coho stay out in the salt. There is still plenty of action in MA 10 and 11.

The cool thing about Coho in the rivers is that they tend to establish themselves in large groups and in similar backwater/slow-water areas regardless of the river so they're relatively easy to find.
