I fished the upper Skagit this afternoon. Yes sir the river was really running at Rockport. I started my day at Ft Casey at daylight. First skunk that I've had there this year. Drove up the skagit to Marblemont. Cr'd a couple of dollies and a big ugly old king. Tried to break the king off, but there was too much stretch in the 10 lb Max UGThe hook finally straightened out, but the line was just all curly and trashed. Put on my spare Abu and drove down river to swift creek. No silvers but 8 dollies pounced on the wee Dick Nite. Next stop Rockport. Fished both sides but the water was really whistling thru there. Wish I would have had my plunking gear as there was a nice current seam to soak a spin & glo and shrimp on.
Tomorrow is another day and hopefully all the water the dams released today will pull some fresh fish upriver.

My boat's in the garage, ready to float the upper part tomorrow. Maybe I'll wait until Sunday?

Cupo: If you fish today, or tomorrow, fish it early. (like O'Dark Thirty or first legal light.)

With this full moon it seems the fish don't hit well after AM.

Flows are way down this morning, and they shut the Baker off at midnight. Woo Hoo! That means much lower flow here, and the fish are gonna sit a spell. Garry (GVBEST) and I are going to have an awesome mornings fishing. (film at 11:00..... \:D ...)

Also looks like they reduced the flow up above, and levels are returning to near normal.

Go get 'em!

Mike
