Anything to report from the Grand Rhonde or Clearwater, east of the mountains?

Mid Oct is usually good on GR.

I hit the Grande Ronde for three days in the last weekend of September. Too early. Water level was perfect. Lots of fish over Lower Granite. I didn't catch anything. Fishchecker said for 30 guys 3 fish were caught on Saturday and for 20 guys 4 fish were caught on Sunday. Still fun to be over there. Call Boggans and get a current report. Maybe try by Heller Bar?

We've been doing pretty well at the mouths of Snake Tribs on either shrimp under floats or using lighted vortexes at the mouth of the Clearwater. There are lots of early hatchery fish in the lower Touchet, but as others have said, its still a little early for the Grand Rhonde. Check the water temperatures. Once fishable waters drop below 60 deg. F. the bite is on, even if there may not be a ton of fish. Todays rain should help a lot. See ya out there!!

We tried it above Ice Harbor on Sunday. Had one take down, but did not stick. I'm thinking of trying in front to the Toucannon this weekend. Good to see your posting here, John.

how long is the drive from Bellingham to the clearwater? The Thompson river up here is closed to all fishing and it's now time to drive around and see what else is really out there.

Clearwater is about 5 or 5.5 hours from Seattle without traffic. Add whatever it takes to drive from Bellingham to Seattle, and likely more traffic.

Snake is rising tonight, rumor is the dam is releasing. Fished an hour at the mouth an hour after dusk and the river rose at least a foot within 45 minutes.

Reports that this last week has been good for spinners and bobbers alike.

Lower Grande Ronde is definitely in.

This flush of water ahead of whatever rain comes this weekend should start moving more fish.

100,000+ now over Lower Granite...

Another great run happening this year. Gotta love it!

Hopefully Next weekend the fishing will be fair to moderate. Going over for the weekend.
Maybe I will see one or two of you around on the Clearwater or Grand Rhonde? Just look for the Blue Jeep!!!!!

FYI...

Make sure to lock your vehicle at ALL times as a friggin thief(s) got into my buddies vehicle and stole his wallet and some misc crap last Saturday. Luckily, he had all his gear with him.

However, they did hit a number of vehicles at the mouth. Last I heard, they did get a license plate number of a suspicious car.
