running uncharacteristically silty today (up high). Anybody got any ideas? At 2000 cubic this river should be gin clear and it was when I went to bed last night. Is someone mucking up my river somewhere up there?

Qq,

If you're looking at the river below Sultan, it's because of the massive slide on the Sultan River up in the Canyon that occurred a couple of weeks ago during the last rain...check out the video of the slide in the Fins-n-Feathers forum...

Fish on...

Todd

Hmmmm....

Snow melt from yesterday's sunny weather?

Maybe it's a matter of perspective? One man's silt is another man's steelhead green?

Either way, the fish ought to be around...they sure were last week!

Fish on...

Todd

I'm not complaining about the fishibility, I'm just curious why the color change. I see the river every morning when I wake, therefore I notice the smallest changes in color/clarity/level etc...

I thought about the nice weather yesterday, but the temps. were cool enough to keep the water dropping and clearing. It's just a little mysterious to me why the visibility change in the opposite direction. I'm not trying to sound any alarms or anything, but something out of the ordinary might have happened above, and I just wanted a few ideas/opinions

Thanks for responding Todd.

The graph at Gold bar shows it's still dropping.

...was at Reiter yesterday and today. Water did silt up today compared to the clear water yesterday (???).

Think it was sudden snow melt unless a slide. On the way up today about 7:00am the car thermometer at Sultan read 30 degrees, by the time we got to Reiter it read 43 with an east wind. The thermometer is very accurate.....must be global warming.

BTW...fishing was dead slow today at Reiter, but not on the snoqualmie in the afternoon! \:D Snoqualmie was also silted to about the same degree and a bit more.
