I believe that you can't expect anything better or different than what someone's track record has shown to be. If you believe that the Iraq war was well thougth out, justified to the American People and the world, with sufficient planning to successfully execute the mission, then if you relect President Bush, you should be happy with whatever country the Bush Administration choses to attack in the name of "War on Terror."

After all, if relected, he sure doesn't have to worry anymore about the consequences of being relected for a 3rd term. If anything, Bush / Cheney will be more brazen about its Foreign policy tactics. They don't need to go to the trouble of attempting to persuade other contries to contribute to their cause, they'll just ask for a budgetary adjustment once the American Military is committed (yes, I know Congress authorized this war---but many assumed that this would be a Nato led war--like the 1st Gulf war, not a unilateral US invasion with a few token Governments included). They didn't care about paying for this War in Iraq the 1st time, why do you think it will be any different the next time? It will be more tax cuts with the hope that the "trickle down effect of increased revenues will offset however many billions we spend on the next war (just like a riverboat gambler).

But I thought you guys thought Bush was just a puppet for this administration and the Repulican Industrial War Machine? As with any president, they are under pressure 'toe to the party line'. Repulicans will want a chance in the white house after Bush is gone. If Bush blows it and the American people lash out against the Republican party, they won't be happy.

So this theory that the sky will fall if GW is elected for a second term doesn't hold much water with me. His party won't let him go out of control and congress won't be so 'easily swayed' next time around anyway.

But who knows, maybe he really is a deranged cowboy who wants to go down shooting with his buddies Rummie and Chenney....

Bush just recently was rousted by a group of conservatives who called the Iraq War policy analegous to a "meandering stream." Your right that Bush will listen to the conservative constituency, but over and over again, Bush Cheney go their own couse, come hell or high water.

For instance, last night's speach would have been a great opportunity to level set everyone why we're over there. Other than to talk about staying the course and a 5 word "plan," there was no in-depth discussion about what is strategically important about Iraq and why this war was and is critical to America and a prudent use of our resources. The only thing that I got out of it is that now that we started this "opportunity for Democracy," we're not going to let the terrorists scare us away, whatever the cost.

Sometimes, I think he believes that Americans just don't care about the why or we're just too stupid to know the difference. There are those that believe that whatever the president says goes, and we should support him and we don't have any business knowing the "real intel." I'm tired of this 1950's mentatilty.

I do not see any further "Invasions" I see terrorists attacking here and there putting pressure on relationships trying to open a wider conflict. I think the world knows we can come in and close up shop in any country in a few months at most. Granted we would leave a mess behind but countries like Syria ,Iran etc. know we will kill off the leaders. So I think we will enter into a cold war period for the next 10 years or so. Hitting terrorists bases hee and there and not making any freinds in the ME or politically elsewhere. I see the world divided like never before but paralized and politicised from dong much about it.
